WeakSim Privacy Policy
WeakSim (hereinafter referred to as “the App”) is an iOS weak-network simulator. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your data through a simple and transparent policy.
1. App Description and Features
WeakSim uses a system VPN (Packet Tunnel) to intercept device traffic on-device and apply network impairments, so you can reproduce subway, elevator, high-speed rail, and poor-signal conditions. Core capabilities include:
- On-device traffic interception: Route device traffic through a local Packet Tunnel without modifying the app under test.
- Preset scenes: Built-in conditions such as Unlimited, 2G, 3G, weak 4G / Wi-Fi, subway, elevator, high latency, packet hell, high-speed rail disconnects, and DNS timeout.
- Custom damage: Delay and jitter, packet loss, upload/download throttling, duplication, reordering, tampering, periodic disconnects, and DNS faults (timeout / failure / hijack).
- Monitoring and replay: Live throughput and session stats, session recordings, runtime logs, and preset scene speed tests.
2. Privacy Commitments
To protect your privacy, we adhere to the following guidelines:
- Zero User Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal identifiable information, device information, or usage habit data.
- No Registration or Login Required: The App does not require an account system. You can use it without registration.
- Local Processing: Simulation profiles, session recordings, and runtime logs are stored locally on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers or synced to iCloud.
3. Traffic and Local Storage
- Local packet processing: While the VPN is running, the App processes network packets on-device to apply impairments. We do not collect, upload, or analyze this traffic.
- Local records: Session replay data and logs remain on your device and can be cleared in the App.
4. Purchases
The App offers an optional Pro weekly auto-renewing subscription and a Pro lifetime purchase, handled entirely by Apple’s App Store (StoreKit). We do not process or store any payment information; all transactions are managed by Apple.
5. Data Security
Since all operations are executed locally, your data security is protected by your device’s operating system (iOS).
