Q: What platforms does WeakSim support?
WeakSim is an iOS app. It requires iOS and uses a system VPN (Packet Tunnel) to intercept and impair on-device traffic.
Q: Do I need to root or jailbreak my device?
No. WeakSim works by installing a local VPN configuration through the iOS system. When you start the simulator, iOS will ask you to allow the VPN profile and confirm that it trusts WeakSim.
Q: Will WeakSim affect my real network usage?
WeakSim only applies impairments while the simulator is running. You can stop it at any time from the App or by turning off the VPN in iOS Settings, and your device will return to normal network conditions immediately.
Q: Where is my data stored?
Everything runs on-device. Simulation profiles, session recordings, and runtime logs are stored locally and are never uploaded to our servers or synced to iCloud.
Q: What features are available in the free version?
The free version includes the Unlimited, 2G, and 3G presets, and you can start the VPN for basic simulation. Pro unlocks all preset scenes (weak 4G/Wi-Fi, subway, elevator, high latency, packet hell, high-speed rail disconnects, DNS timeout, and more), custom weak-network scenes, and preset scene speed tests.
Q: How do I manage or cancel my Pro subscription?
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. You can manage or cancel your weekly subscription in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
